It was a big – and somewhat surprising – night at the Golden Globes last night, hosted by Ricky Gervais for the fourth time and celebrating all the best from film and TV. One of the most unexpected, but no less deserving, wins of the night was musician Lady Gaga, who took home to award for Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie for her role on American Horror Story: Hotel.
The singer turned actress was barely able to hold herself together as she gave her speech, admitting that before she turned her talents to singing her dream was always to become an actress!
Setting aside her trademark wacky outfits in favour of a more red carpet friendly black Versace gown and 60s Hollywood Hairstyle, she said that winning the award made her feel like Cher in Moonstruck, before going on to thank Ryan Murphy, show runner of American Horror Story, her fellow cast mates and her family.
She later took to Instagram to post a picture of her and her award and make further thanks online.
She beat out stiff competition from Felicity Huffman, Queen Latifah, Kirsten Dunst and Sarah Hay to take home the award.
Congrats, Gaga!
