Alec D. Bohm (born August 3, 1996) is an American professional baseball third baseman in the Philadelphia Phillies organization. Bohm was drafted third overall by the Phillies in the first round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft.
Bohm was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Dan and Lisa Bohm. He attended Roncalli Catholic High School in Omaha, Nebraska. Bohm hit .526 as a junior, and .533 (leading the state of Nebraska) as a senior. In August 2015, he won the Connie Mack World Series Home Run Derby. Bohm was not drafted out of high school.
Bohm made his professional debut with the Class A Short-Season Williamsport Crosscutters; he also played in 2018 for GCL Phillies East and the GCL Phillies West. Bohm was placed on the disabled list with a left shin contusion on July 14, and was activated on August 20. In 139 at bats over 40 games at third base for the three teams, he hit .252/.335/.324 with 17 RBIs and 3 steals. Bohm began 2019 with the Lakewood BlueClaws. After hitting .367/.441/.595 in 93 plate appearances with nine doubles, three homers and 11 RBIs in 22 games, he was promoted from Lakewood to the High-A Clearwater Threshers of the Florida State League. After batting .329/.395/.506 with four home runs and 27 RBIs in 40 games with Clearwater, Bohm was promoted a second time to the AA Reading Fightin Phils on June 20, with whom he batted .269/.344/.500 with 14 home runs and 42 RBIs in 238 at bats. He was named to the 2019 All-Star Futures Game. With all three teams combined in 2019, he batted .305/.378/.518 with 21 home runs and 80 RBIs in 475 at bats as he played 83 games at third base and 24 games at first base. He was selected to play in the Arizona Fall League for the Scottsdale Scorpions following the season. On September 12, 2019, Bohm was named the winner of the Paul Owens Award, recognizing him as the Phillies best minor league position player for the past season.
